Jackson Tick in "Kyrie"

The choreography for "Moving Silence" takes off from a view of the Burghers of Calais. The dance is written as a Requiem to the taking of responsibility for the past and ends with a hope for the future.

"The Burghers of Calais" by Rodin
A monumental work commemorating an incident in the 100years War between the English and the French. In 1347, the city of Calais was besieged by the English, led by King Edward III. Edward demanded the surrender of the city. To stop any further loss of life, the oldest Burgher, Eustace de Saint Pierre led a group of 6 Calais citizens to the English. However, thanks to the intercession of King Edward's wife Phillipa, the lives of all 6 Burghers were spared.
